Worth the drive: Hindemith takes obscure piano duets by Carl Maria von Weber and reimagines them as a brilliant, punchy four-movement showpiece for full orchestra. More about Paul Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber →
About this concert
Guest conductor Kyle Knox leads Beethoven's Sixth Symphony, his musical portrait of the countryside, after a first half of French, Baroque and Argentine nature pieces. Violinist Naha Greenholtz is the soloist in the Vivaldi and Piazzolla seasons, and Hindemith's orchestral showpiece rounds out the evening.
