About the data
How this site is made, and how you can help
One person, out of love for the music
OrchestraFinder is not a company with a staff of editors. It is built and run by one person, Seth, because I love this music and wanted tools that didn't exist. I use this site myself every day: to see who is playing near me, to plan trips around concerts, and to keep track of the pieces and performers I follow. Everything here started as something I needed and couldn't find.
Why AI helps write the pages
The site lists hundreds of orchestras and thousands of concerts, composers, performers and pieces. Writing a biography or program note for every one of them by hand would take one person a lifetime, so I use AI to help. Concert listings are read from each orchestra's own published season. The biographies, program notes and "What to listen for" guides are drafted with AI from the facts we have and published in our own words. Wherever I can, I check and correct them.
That means mistakes get through. A movement can be described wrongly, a date can be off, or two instruments that are not the same can be blurred together. Musicians who know a piece from the inside will spot things that no catalog or model does.
Please tell us when something is wrong
If you find an error or inaccuracy anywhere on the site, large or small, I want to hear about it and I'm grateful for every note. Your corrections make the site better for everyone who comes after you.
- On any page: open Feedback (the button at the bottom right) and choose Report a problem. It is tracked until it is fixed, and if you leave an email or have an account, you can see when it is done.
- On a concert page: use the "Something look wrong?" box to flag a date, time, venue or program.
- Are you a performer or composer we list? Claim your own page: open it and choose Claim this page at the bottom of the side column. Once you are verified you can correct the facts about yourself (name, birth year, hometown, instrument, current posts, website), add photos and links, and tell us what we got wrong in the biography; we rewrite it with your corrections. You can also write to us. What you tell us about your own life and career is the authority we go by.
- Run an orchestra? Claim your orchestra's page to keep your season and your story accurate.
- Prefer email? Write to info@orchestrafinder.com.
What stays the same
Membership is free, for life, and there will never be a paid tier. Listings come from each orchestra's own published season, so always confirm with the box office before you travel. And every correction you send reaches me. Thank you for helping.
