About the Santa Monica Symphony

The Santa Monica Symphony is a community orchestra made up largely of dedicated volunteer musicians who live and work across the greater Los Angeles area. It performs its main classical concerts free of charge, drawing an audience that ranges from lifelong subscribers to families and curious newcomers. This season's programming includes classical concerts alongside a choral program and a film-with-live-orchestra event, reflecting the group's mix of standard symphonic repertoire and more crowd-pleasing fare. Concerts are given at JAMS Performing Arts Center and Barnum Hall, both in Santa Monica. First-time visitors can expect a relaxed, community feel, a full-sized orchestra tackling substantial works, and the chance to hear live orchestral music without the ticket price of a major professional ensemble.
