Worth the drive: Purcell's incidental music for a 1695 revenge tragedy, remembered today for the stately Rondeau that Benjamin Britten later borrowed for "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra." The suite gathers the instrumental numbers Purcell wrote to be played before and between the acts of a spoken play, so it moves as a set of short, contrasting scenes rather than a single argument.
